The focus of our violin rentals is to alleviate the frustration and limitations of inexpensive 'violin-shaped objects' and provide every student with the best opportunity to succeed with a properly made and setup instrument. Please note that 100% of each rental payment, less tax and insurance, builds equity that may be applied toward a new violin purchase. Evergreen Workshop Rental Terms and Conditions 1. Quality: Evergreen Workshop works hard to provide exceptional quality instruments. Our technicians inspect and play all instruments prior to shipment to ensure the highest possible quality. Please notify us promptly of ANY suspected damage immediately upon receipt of your instrument so that we may take corrective action. Unreported damage is the responsibility of the customer. 2. Equity: Equity builds as you rent. 100% of your rental payments (less insurance and taxes) may be used to purchase a new Evergreen Workshop instrument of the same type within 90 (ninety) days of returning your rental instrument. Payments must be current before accumulated Equity can be applied. Equity amount may be applied toward a maximum of 50% of the regular instrument price. Equity amount cannot be combined with, transferred to, or used with any other promotional offers. 3. Return: Rental Outfits may be returned at any time. Returns received three (3) business days prior to the next billing cycle will not be charged for the next billing period. We are unable to refund payments already processed. Customer is responsible for the proper care of the Rental Outfit, packaging, and return shipping. We can help by providing a return shipping label at our cost. 4. Upsize: Equity continues to build as you rent. Order the next size rental prior to sending back your old instrument! We will help you with the logistics involved to return your smaller instrument. 5. Ownership: While the Rental Outfit remains the property of Evergreen Workshop during the rental period, we hope you will consider it part of your family and provide the appropriate love and care. 6. Insurance: Your rental includes basic insurance covering normal instrument wear and tear, any defects in workmanship or materials for the bow, case, or instrument, and protects you in the event the instrument becomes damaged beyond reasonable repair. A nominal deductible applies for accidents, negligence, abuse, or theft (with police report): $150 - Violin/Viola, $290 - Cello. Evergreen Workshop cannot cover unauthorized repairs, unauthorized purchases, rentals or any other form of replacement, including shipping and handling charges or any related costs of any Rental Outfit component or part, at any time. 7. Payment: Customer authorizes Evergreen Workshop to charge recurring automatic payments in installments indicated at the time of order until the Rental Outfit is returned to and inspected by Evergreen Workshop staff. Customer is responsible for promptly notifying Evergreen Workshop of any changes in their credit card information, such as expiration date, billing address, etc., within ten (10) days of receipt of the new card. A $5 late fee will be automatically applied to any payment received after the due date. Default occurs when the rental account becomes sixty (60) days past due. The Customer then becomes responsible for payment of the full Rental Outfit price. In the event of default, the account may be turned over to a Collection agency. Your rental payment includes basic insurance covering normal wear and tear and protects you in the event the instrument becomes damaged beyond reasonable repair. Amounts shown below are already included in the payment amount above and will be deducted when calculating Equity available for instrument purchase.

Choosing the correct instrument size is critical to your musical success. Students can exchange sizes at any time. Equity continues to build as you rent! Please check with your teacher to determine the proper instrument size or follow the simple guidelines below.

How to measure for a violin

With the player’s left arm fully extended and parallel to the floor with the palm up, measure the distance from the neck to the center of the palm. Default to the next smaller size if in doubt.
